Ball splines

Ball splines are a kind of linear bearing
There are 2 types of linear bearing: Finite Linear Motion Type – limited stroke type, and Infinite Circular Type – unlimited stroke type.
Linear motion using the rolling motion of balls. With the rolling grooves on the shaft and outer cylinder, it can handle both radial loads and rotational torque.
It is ideal for mechanisms that execute linear movements while transmitting torque, and is used in a wide range of fields including transfer equipment and robots.
Comparison of limitless recirculating and limited stroke types
Limitless recirculating | Limited stroke | |
Structure | Complex | Relatively simple |
Stroke | Unlimited | Limited |
Noise | Relatively loud | Quiet |
Other | Retainer becomes misaligned The outer diameter is easily reduced. |

Features of HEPHAIST Ball Splines
HEPHAIST ball splines have a circular arc structure achieving an ideal four lines of balls.
They can withstand equivalent loads in four directions, whether radial or moment loads.
The secure structure prevents the balls from falling out even if the shaft is drawn out of the nut.
They are used in a wide range of fields including transfer equipment and industrial robots.
- Standardized Z-axis × θ-axis integrated splines.
- Specializing in linear rolling motion rather than rotational torque
- Pre-assembled unit for easier maintenance
- Feature of limited stroke ball splines are the rolling resistance fluctuates less and the motion is smoother. This product both ends of the shaft are machinable, the user can do machining at the user ends.
Recommended for equipment for handling, mounting and inspecting semiconductor chips!
